May Newsletter
Your May 11' Newsletter is here, and this month we will be discussing Sinking Short Putts.* The difference between a great score and another pedestrian round is often the difference between making your short putts and missing them. Here is a great practice tip to help sharpen your putting game:
- Place three balls 4 to 6 inches away from the front lip of the cup.
- Set up 3 to 6 feet away with another ball.
- Now select which ball you would like to knock in the hole with the ball you are about to putt.
- Putt the ball and try to put the ball you selected into the hole. Think of it like playing a billiard shot.
- Continue this process until all three balls are knocked in the hole.
- Repeat at different distances away, but no more than 6 feet.
In order for you to be able to knock all these balls in the hole, you are going to have to be a real sharpshooter. It will require a much more precise shot than you would need to sink a simple putt.
This is a fun drill that will develop your concentration, touch and precision. Make this drill a regular part of your practice and the cup will look like a manhole cover out on the course.

Now go out and play better golf!
