Your October 09' newsletter is here, and this month we will be discussing Maximizing Your Turn For Power.* Many golfers just can't make as big and full a backswing as they did when they were younger. Unfortunately, this is a reality for many as we age. Here is a tip to help you Maximize your Turn and get back some lost Power:

  1. At address, angle your right (or rear) foot to the right (or away from the target) by about 20 degrees, instead of placing your right foot perpendicular to the target line.
  2. Angling the right foot out and away lets your hips turn farther in a clockwise manner on the backswing than they would if your foot was pointing straight.
  3. This added hip turn will then allow your shoulders to travel a little farther around as well.
  4. You need your shoulders to turn more than your hips in order to achieve a reasonable turn for added power.
