Your May newsletter is here, and this month we are concentrating on the correct *Club Position. Many golfers believe the club shaft and your lead arm should form a straight line. This leads to many problems in the take away. But this mainly causes the club to move too low and inside the proper swing plane. Try these tips to check your club positioning:
- Face a mirror in your good golf posture position. (See April Tips)
- Grip a club and put your lead hand in the middle of your body, straight from your belly button.
- Imagine lines are drawn up your arms and from shoulder to shoulder, if in the correct position this should form a triangle.
- Imagine a line is drawn up your club shaft. If in the correct position, the line would bisect the triangle and go through your lead eye
- Look down at your club face, it may appear that your hands are behind the club face.
- Look up at the mirror, you will see that your hands are not behind the club face, but you have the club in the correct postion.
As we have learned, a great address position consists of two things:
- Having the correct body position.(April Newsletter)
- Having the club in the correct position.
Now go out and play better golf!
