Their aim is to keep the history of the game alive and accessible by restoring the old clubs and presenting them as a trophy that any golfer would be proud to own. Each club has a history attached whether it's the make, model or the endorsed name, so therefore a certificate of authenticity is issued with each trophy giving a brief history of the club. On the back of each plinth is a solid brass plaque with a serial number that corresponds to the certificate, making them a collector's item.
Golf clubs come in all shapes and sizes and when restored no two are the same. All of the trophies are made to order, so they may not look exactly like the image. However, with the Harwood reputation, you can trust that you will be 100% satisfied with the trophy you receive.
This is the 100th edition souvenir for the open championship held at Hoylake 2006, very rare!!! It features a Tom Auchtelonie 3 Wood and a Putter stamped H.H.Alen of York. It has a star cleek mark that was used by W.Gibson & Co Ltd of Kinghorn Fife in Scotland. They were probably the most prolific club makers in the Kingdom of Fife during early part of the 20th century along with the Auchtelonie`s of St Andrews whos workshop was 50 yards from the 18th fairway at St Andrews and is still there today.
Engraving is offered for just $10.00 more per item. A 3" X 1" Brass Plaque is attached, and we suggest Name, Date and Prize Won.
